Our Practice

Michael Sonnleitner, O.D.

Dr. Sonnleitner is an honors graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, where he received his Bachelor's and Doctor of Optometry degrees. He splits his time between the two practices, specializing in contact lenses, corneal refractive therapy, laser vision correction co-management, and nutrition. He is also TPA certified by the state of California, which allows him to use therapeutic drugs in the treatment of certain eye diseases. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and the Monterey Bay Optometric Society. He is a past member of The Flying Doctors and has established eye clinics for the treatment of indigent people of various cultures. Outside the office, Dr. Sonnleitner spends time with his family, practices karate, and rides his motorcycle.



Jennifer Zee Henrickson, O.D.

Dr. Henrickson grew up in Sunnyvale with her parents and older brother. She received her Bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. After a brief year living in Maui, she returned to UC Berkeley where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Henrickson is also TPA certified to use therapeutic medication for the treatment of certain eye diseases. She has completed specialized training at the Beijing Medical University in China, a family practice in Oklahoma City, and an ophthalmology surgery center in St. Louis. She enjoys family practice optometry and contact lenses, mainly at our Capitola office. In her free time, Dr. Henrickson enjoys going to the beach, camping, traveling, and barbecues with family and friends.

Dr. Henrikson will be on maternity leave from May 26, 2008, until September 15, 2008, during which time Drs. Sonnleitner and Tran will be filling in.



Diem Tran, O.D.

Dr. Diem Tran received her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California in San Diego. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from State University of New York, where she received specialized training in vision therapy and pediatric optometry. She is TPA certified in the use of therapeutic medication for the treatment of certain eye diseases. Dr. Tran, who practices mainly at our Scotts Valley office, loves working with children and especially enjoys vision therapy. Outside the office Dr. Tran enjoys the beach, rollerblading, and spending time with family and friends.
